You’re very welcome 🙏🏼

I didn’t intend in that article to make a sweeping connection between kindness and feeling unworthy. To the contrary, I think most people who feel insecure end up being aggressive and unkind because of it. Rather, there a few people I’ve met in my life, who are really the kindest I’ve encountered. It’s as if they never think of themselves and only of others. I wanted to explore what made them that way, and that was the conclusion I reached. I don’t think kindness in and of itself necessitates that, and I don’t think people were valid in their criticism of you when saying you’re “nice because [you] have nothing else to offer.” First off, everyone has something to offer, and you more than most as you’re, at the very least, a talented writer. Secondly, the type I described in my piece has an overwhelming amount to offer; they just don’t feel like they do.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and respond to my work, Iffah.
