This is a reasonable criticism. But Covid feels like it’s own thing. It was Covid and everybody was in it together, and it wasn’t really anyone’s fault (though the response to it was).

It also occurred in the last full year of his Presidency. The rest of it was pretty clear sailing, though Trump had nothing to do with that. He just got lucky, as usual.
