The theme of unreasonable people controlling reasonable people is something I’ve thought a lot about, and I’d see it play out nearly everyday. The aspect on people being so ready to take offense is primarily something I’ve witnessed in the traditional media and on social media. And the parts about individuals with depression, anxiety, etc., were primarily inspired by my experience of dating someone with borderline personality disorder.
