That's true. You hear a lot of anti-U.S. sentiment based on social media driven stereotypes.

Though honestly, I think our most ardent detractors seem to be Americans themselves, which frankly bothers me. I have no problem with people being critical of the country. But the role of a citizen in a democracy is not to just constantly complain about how bad everything is, it's incumbent on them to play an active role in trying to fix it. So if all they do is complain, I find it obnoxious.
