That first one is an interesting take I hadn't heard before. But yes, if it's not manmade that kind of does make it more scary.

To your second point, I could see how an intentional process could change things faster than one that was happening by chance, but I see what you mean. Definitely would be interested to hear an expert's take on the matter, as I'm not really qualified to work out the math on that.
