Thank you for your kind words. You make a lot of great points. One of the things I regret not putting in the article, and that I think I’ll add once the Medium Writers Contest is over (this is one of my entries) is that the act of making it public is important to me. It’s like what you said “when you hear other people venting their stories about something similar.” There’s something about giving it away, and hearing that others relate. The former increases the sense of separation from it all, and the latter makes my pain into our pain, which makes the burden feel lighter.

The point you made about “getting close. to myself and introspecting” is one I hadn’t considered, but another factory worthy of inclusion. That’s also a great point about people finding similar relief in various crafts and hobbies.
