So I took a deep dive into the dating app data and a have an article coming out giving my full breakdown of how I believe they're changing things.
But in short, there are way too many men to women on them, so men are devalued on the apps. The result is that I can meet a whole bunch of women, but they're not really good matches because I too am being devalued.
It's like if I can get them to meet with me out of the hundred other guys in their inbox, I'm probably a real catch for them. But I'm working with much less options, so my standards are skewing down and theirs are skewing up. Then, we get in person, and everything snaps back to reality.
That's why they all wanted second dates, why I had to be the one to end things with all of them, etc. We weren't matched on a level playing field to begin with.
