I've debated that question with other commenters. Some women do say that the environment on the apps are toxic for them. Beyond that, we can probably speculate that women are likely meeting more people irl. Studies show that women are more social generally, and I think it's fair to say that the average woman is more often approached by men when going about her daily business than the average man is approached by women.

I haven't found a clear answer though.
