It’s an excellent point, and you’re not the only one to comment in defense of sensitivity. I guess I’ve fallen into a little bit of a trap here. I was aiming to make an observation about how sensitivity can lead to control, but I didn’t mean to make the point that it’s somehow always bad by excluding any counterpoint. I’ve written elsewhere about the virtues of sensitivity, but I suppose any piece is more complete when comprehensive within itself. Thanks for the great feedback!
