It kind of does though, no? The descriptor “comedian” means “this person should not be taken seriously.” They’re still people, so when they’re not working that might be a different standard. But during a set, or any other professional appearance, whatever they say or do should be assumed to be done in jest.

Whatever portion of their audience is taking them seriously is doing so despite a blatant disclaimer not to.
