It is funny! In general, intra-gender dynamics can be so silly.

It’s perhaps more strange watching it from the outside looking in, since members of that gender can at least intuitively feel the draw to act the way other members of their gender do, but it’s goofy regardless.

It’s recently become a frequent topic of conversation for me—“things we do just for other members of our gender”—and I’d love to see more discussion of it from both sides.

Men are basically always thinking about whether or not they can beat up other men, and a lot of them go to ridiculous lengths to not do anything that seems even indirectly suggestive of homosexuality, and we all tend to act stiff and macho when threatened. It’s hilarious, and like no one actually cares but us.

Some of the things women do fall into that same vein, and it’s just so funny to observe how silly humans are!
