I’m with you. I romanticize it as well. I think it’s probably always been tough, but people are always able to go through whatever they have to when they’re not presented with any alternatives. Liberalism is all about personal choice, and as society has become increasingly liberal, we’re constantly being presented with new opportunities to diverge from the traditional path. I think there are pros and cons to every lifestyle, but it is a shame that when it comes to something like lifelong love that we seem to find it harder and harder to bring to fruition. Hopefully it’s being supplemented by something equally fulfilling.
