I wish I had a solution. I could say that doctors should be doing x and y instead, but for a problem to be so widespread there has to be some systemic factor.

From what I’ve heard from medical practitioners, it sounds like insurance companies are incentivizing a numbers game with patients. I don’t really understand the full mechanics of it unfortunately, but it sounds like some government legislation—or the undoing of some government legislation—is probably necessary to set things right.
