I’m in the same boat. It’s real hard, you know? And it’s like you get compliments from other writers, but it kind of feels like they’re just trying to bring attention to their own writing. And even the people who criticize don’t really give good, constructive criticism. It’s very hard to get feedback, but I think that’s kind of good in a way. I feel like we’re supposed to be writing for an audience of one (ourselves), and the difficulties we encounter when straying from that are a reminder to stay the course.
