I thought that might be a fault with the examples I was listing too. I had also noticed that most of the modern art exhibits I've gone too while in Japan were also showcasing the work of foreigners, but I felt it would be too anecdotal to include.

Still, I moved forward with the post as is after reviewing that I covered: food, music, language, manga/comics, elements of pop culture, holiday and marriage "traditions", and fashion. I mean, if the outside influence stopped there--which it doesn't--I think that's still more than enough to support the conclusion.
