I never claimed to have a monopoly on goodness. I have opinions, like everyone else, and my career success or lack thereof has no bearing on the validity or worth of those opinions.
I also never claimed that there's a mutual exclusivity between popular and "good." Some of my favorite actors are very popular, others are not.
You don't know me at all and yet have written a whole half an essay about "guys like me," how we're tedious, how we're affecting our love for something, etc. Well, you're entitled to your opinion, however ill-informed, and I won't engage in an ad hominem to try to devalue that opinion.
That is how people should react to other people's personal views--not by insulting the work they've dedicated much of their lives to in an attempt to devalue that personal view.
