I don't think you understand: The man referenced in the article, Luis Alberto Castillo Rivera, was detained at a legal port of entry while applying for asylum.
He was deemed a gang member based on a tattoo alone, and then shipped to Guantanamo Bay where he's essentially in a legal black box.
His family was not even notified of any of this, nor was he allowed to call them himself. They only know because they saw his picture on a government press release, when he was being taken in shackles.
He did not even commit the "crime" of entering the country illegally.
