I agree with you, but having my opinion devalued and the work I've dedicated much of my life to minimized is a very messed up thing to do. I believe that it was legitimate for me to be upset. Though, since it was more or less accidental, an apology would've resolved it.

It was her inability to apologize for that, and other things, that made it difficult for me to move past the incident. When she eventually did apologize, I told her I accepted that apology immediately and never brought it up again, but she had moved away by then.
