I agree the stimulus was necessary, though I think it was a bit too much—thought the same at the time. PPP loan give aways, in particular, were completely indiscriminate and went to a lot of companies/scammers that had no real need for them.

As for inflation, if you agree that the Fed’s rate hikes are designed to combat inflation by discouraging spending, then do you think handicapping the economy is really the best way to get there? Don’t you think that direct communication is worth a real try as a means to achieving that end of less spending?
