Having seen my parents try to navigate not only their divorce from each other, but also their divorces from others they have kids with, has shown me just how challenging it is.

It's one of those hard facts of life. Obviously, people in a relationship sometimes drift apart and choose to end things for any variety of reasons, but it's bound to have some impact on the kids.
