First off, thank you so much for taking the time to read my writing and for you kind words.

I think both approaches are necessary and have their pros and cons. If we aim to discuss subjects at a certain level of sophistication, then perhaps we lose a lot of lay persons. However, if we refrain from discussing things that are complex and technical, then we can only go so far. It’s true not everyone can walk into a master’s or doctorate’s program and understand what’s going on, but surely the intellectual progression of the few who have made it there would need to be stunted if those advanced courses were done away with. I think advanced, technical discussions work the same way. I don’t think that it can or should be limited to one or the other. Whether we give out 30 snacks or two meals, I think we’re performing a kind and necessary function in both instances.
