Definitely! It's my one and only physical fight of my adult life, and since the moment it ended, I've felt it to be so dumb.

Anger, alcohol, and provocation are an unfortunate mix. And it's rare that I ever drink that way, am that emotionally vulnerable, or that my friend would choose to act so uncharacteristically aggressive with me, but that night was a perfect storm.

It would do wonders if young men weren't raised with so much pressure to be "manly," prideful, and combative. We're shamed for turning down a physical challenge from a young age, so things tend to escalate. It's really unfortunate.
